Elude the cops and others with handy Security Camera Defeating LED Glasses

Found this over on Gizmodo today. It looks like an enterprising young individual has created a video tutorial on how to build your own home made LED sunglasses. Big whoop you say? Not so fast, these sun glasses are powered with some infrared LED’s and a little battery.

Who\'s that with the bug eyes?!@

What does this do you ask? Simple, remember a few years ago when Laser pointers were all the rage, and we figured out that you could point them at security cameras and “blank” or “white” the screen in the security office? Well, these sunglasses do the same thing except they are for your face. Perfect if you’re of average body size, height and weight. Rob anywhere and be anonymized!

So, because of this cool video, you can now go down and spend about 5$ at the local electronics store to get all the parts you need to build your very own set of security evading glasses. Looks like it’ll take about 20 minutes to build them with very little knowledge of electronics required. Very simple these are.

led gloves put lights at your fingertips

Found this on Technabob..

Just in case you’re still living in the early 1990s and heading out to a rave this weekend, you might want to add these to your outfit before you head out onto the dance floor.

led gloves

This pair of battery-powered gloves have a set of bright LEDs built into the fingertips. In addition to a brilliant blue always-on mode, the gloves can also be set to epileptic flashing or disco chase-light mode — just in case your illuminated fingertips don’t draw enough attention on their own.

Thankfully, they haven’t yet caught on, but you better not let Kanye West know about these, lest he wear them to his next (oh so humble) award acceptance speech and start some kind of trend.

If you’re really ready to wear these out in public, you can find them from France’s Lux et Deco (get it, L.E.D.?) for €29 (about $45 USD) a pair.

Household FAN Modding with LED’s

I found this link while searching around the net the other day. Someone has decided to modify their fan to include LED’s on it. Pretty neat use of the technology, I could see this to be modified to be something like ladyada’s Mini POV kit, so people can spell words out and such.

Anyway, check out the howto located here
